We believe the best way to help one another to grow spiritually is to be committed to each other. Membership is our way of committing to one another: the chuch leaders committing to serve and spiritually care for the members, and the members committing to serve and spiritually care for one another. In other words it is our way of putting our yes down and becoming the family God wants us to be.
We require prospective members:
- to be people who have trusted in Jesus Christ to be their Lord and Savior
- to have professed faith in Jesus through baptism
- to serve on a ministry team
- to be committed to the church through regularly gathering on Sundays and in a missional community
- to support the ministries of the church
Our four stage process invovles the following:
1. Attend a membership class where you will learn about the history, mission, vision, beliefs, and direction of Sunbury City Church.
2. Interview with an elder where you will share how you came to faith in Jesus Christ and affirm your commit to Sunbury City Church.
3. Be recommended by the eldership of the church where the elders will discuss your application and upon approval recommend you to the membership of the church.
4. Receive affirmation by the membership of the church where the members will hear about your faith in Jesus Christ and affirm your acceptance into membership.
