PARTNERING WITH PARENTS

God designed the family to be a picture of the family of God.  Parents and children, grandparents and siblings all worshipping the Lord together.  In Deuteronomy 6 we see God's vision for our families, where the older generations are to speak about who God is and all that he has done with the younger generations in every sphere of life, so no one will ever forget the Lord.  At Sunbury City Church we seek to come alongside families, equipping and empowering them to remember Jesus Christ.  

FAMILY WORSHIP

To accomplish this vision of seeing families regularly remember Jesus Christ in all of life, we encourage families to create space in everyday life for family worship.  This is a moment in which families spend time

  • recalling what God has done in your life that day or the past week, talking about his goodness and seeking to live for Jesus Christ
  • reading God's word (the Bible or a storybook Bible) to learn and apply truth about Jesus Christ to their everyday life
  • rejoicing in the way God is working in your child's life.
